This spectacular timber frame was built in the Kootenay Cooperative spirit. We worked with the owners and the timber framer (Clarke Smith of The Timber Frame Company in Winlaw, BC) to design and supply the Structural Insulated Panels for the walls and roof. Once the panels were installed, we took the house to a lock up phase with window and door installations. Lara helped the owners design their kitchen and bathrooms. We framed the interior walls according to the revised designs. Once the drywall was up, we got busy with the kitchen mill work installations, the tile work, and the plumbing. Finally, we fabricated and installed the Paperstone countertops. For the exterior, we basically replicated the exterior details used on our Slocan Cottage project. The siding was locally milled bevelled cedar siding, and the trim was all milled on site.
