Timber Frame Porch and Metal Roofing Installations

The timber frame porch was added to the house. The Timber Frame Company out of Winlaw, BC did the timber framing. Sockeye enterprises provided the locally milled lumber. Hybrid timber frame construction works well with the SIP panels.  Another reason the SIP panels are energy efficient is that not only are the panels sealed together during assembly, but they also get a membrane applied to the joints on all roof panels.

The metal roofing is a hidden fastener, locking type roofing guaranteed to last 50 + years. We chose Charcoal Grey as the color. The roofing is installed on top of strapping in order to provide continuous venting beneath the metal. There are several advantages to venting both roofs and walls with strapping prior to installing finished materials; drainage, drying, and durability.
